Your local theater is likely to be loaded with horror goodies next weekend, as both Goosebumps and Crimson Peak are on the way. As for this weekend, you’re better off staying home, because there’s no shortage of new horror hitting VOD today. Read on for the full list!
First up, the 2008 film The Haunting of Molly Hartley gets a sequel in the form of The Exorcism of Molly Hartley, directed by Steven R. Monroe (I Spit on Your Grave) and starring Sarah Lind as the title character. It’s available on Digital HD today, ahead of an October 20th DVD and Blu-ray date.

Described as a love letter to ’80s slasher flicks, Todd Strauss-Schulson’s The Final Girls (review) is an unconventional comedy about Max, a high school senior, who is mysteriously transported with her friends into a 1980s horror film that starred Max’s mother, a celebrated scream queen.
When Max (Farmiga) and her friends reluctantly attend an anniversary screening of Camp Bloodbath, the infamous ‘80s horror film that starred Max’s late mother (Malin Akerman), they are mysteriously sucked into the silver screen. They soon realize they are trapped inside the cult classic movie and must team up with the fictional and ill-fated camp counselors, including Max’s mom as the scream queen, to battle the film’s machete-wielding killer.
